PLASTIC-METAL CONNECTIONS

PRODUCT EXAMPLE: COIL FORMER

The coil formers are used in sensors to control fan systems. During the spraying process, the wire is fed endlessly from the reel and separated in the mould. If required, the wires can be angled in the injection mould.

Technical data

PRODUCT EXAMPLE: CONNECTION BLOCK

The pins of the terminal block are used for automatic winding of the coil wires. The wires are fed endlessly from the reel and cut off in the spraying tool. The finished parts are deposited in a nest. Continuous quality measures guarantee ppm values of less than 50.

PRODUCT EXAMPLE: PLUG INSERT

The plug insert is used as a connector in sensor technology. In an automatic production process, the gold-plated pins are inserted and automatically bent in the injection moulding tool. The diameter of the pins at the bend is 0.8 mm.

PRODUCT EXAMPLE: GUIDE PIPES

The guide tube is used for air suspension units/blocks. It is a plastic-metal composite part with a moulded-on sealing element. The article is characterised by its very high concentricity and surface quality as well as the exact shape retention of the sealing lip inside.

PRODUCT EXAMPLE: THREADED TUBES INJECTED

The injected threaded tubes are used as housings for sensors. They have a diameter of 8 – 12 mm and variable lengths. In a semi-automated production process, the plastic is injected as a thin layer of approx. 0.25 mm on the inner wall of the tube and forms a form-fit connection with the metal.

With this technology, a wide variety of inner shapes can be realised, time-consuming assembly processes can be saved and a high connection strength between metal and plastic can be achieved.

PRODUCT EXAMPLE: COIL FORMER WITH CORE

The coil former with core is used in modern stepper motors. It is characterised by a very thin wall of 0.25 mm in the winding area as well as by extremely high pull-out forces of the soldering feet of > 50 N.

In a fully automatic production process, 16 wires are cut to length from the reel and bent in an 8-cavity tool. The metal cores are overmoulded together with the wires and the finished parts are deposited in a nest.
